CBA Travel teams will be having tryouts in September and teams will be announced before CBA Rec registration closes. CBA Travel teams will have a separate registration, so you do not need to sign up for CBA Rec until travel teams have been decided.

Cancellation Policy: There will be a $10 fee for anyone that cancels their registration in advance of 11/30/18. After 11/30/18 there will be no refunds provided unless otherwise approved by the CBA Executive Board. For anyone paying by check, there will be a $25 fee assessed for any returned checks with insufficient funds.

New To The CBA This Season

The CBA is very excited to bring you a couple of changes on top of last year's new colored jerseys, March Madness (end of season format) and more practice time. Here are some of the enhancements for the 2018/2019 season including:

Coaches Draft - In previous seasons, all players were divided evenly among the teams by either the league director or director of registration based on their previous year's player ratings and heights. This year the coaches will be named in advance of the season and they will be armed with (1) last year's player ratings, (2) parent-submitted ratings via this year's registration process and (3) a hands-on evaluation session conducted in early November for ALL CBA Rec players. Coaches will then complete a draft in advance of Thanksgiving so we can inform families of their team assignments in advance of Thanksgiving break

Blue Jays (3rd/4th) Rule Change - Previous seasons the CBA didn't allow steals at the 3rd and 4th grade level. While this rule was in place to eliminate having a dominant player steal the ball from anyone, it was also wasn't teaching kids the fundamentals they need to compete at the Cardinals level once stealing is in play. As a result, the CBA Blue Jays level will now allow steals inside the 3-point line so a player can still dribble the ball up the court and not have it stolen outside the 3-point line

More Practices - The CBA will continue to add additional practices at all levels 3rd - 8th grade. There will also be limited (or no) weekday practices after 8 p.m. for the younger levels per feedback from families after last season

Falcons Registration Fees - In order to keep the Falcons end-of-season tournament at the CGHS and general operating costs for this high school program, the CBA will need to increase all Falcons registration fees to $195 (from $185 last season)

As always, the CBA is always looking for parent feedback and participation in supporting our overall efforts to help make these kids - no matter what skill level - playing basketball! Please email us at
